August 21, 2014 - Program: Guardian Ad Litem - Presented by Judge Jim Fensom Federal, state and local government agencies, non-profit and faith-based organizations, private foundations and corporations are working together to support the efforts of the Guardian ad Litem program. The State of Florida Guardian ad Litem Program is a network of professional staff and community advocates, partnering to provide a strong voice in court and positive systemic change on behalf of Florida’s abused and neglected children. There are 21 local Guardian ad Litem programs in 20 judicial circuits in Florida. Sponsor: Judge Jim Fensom The Guardian ad Litem volunteers go into the homes of at risk children and these volunteers are the eyes and ears of the court. Their work is essential to the court in protecting at risk children and determining the proper placement of children for purposes of foster care or permanent adoption.
