  • From the CRA Administrator Desk,

I work closely with local property owners and businesses to help keep our community strong and growing. Through CRA grant programs, I help folks improve their homes and storefronts, support small businesses, and invest back into our neighborhoods. My goal is to make the process simple, answer questions along the way, and ensure these funds are used where they can make the biggest difference. By supporting local improvements and reinvestment, the CRA helps protect property values, strengthen our local economy, and preserve the character of our community for generations to come. Susan

  • From Your Executive Director:

Over the past five months, this role, and this community, has truly become home to me. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know our members, our businesses, and the heart behind Washington County, and it has only strengthened my passion for the work we’re doing together. I am especially excited about the new programs, initiatives, and goals we are building to better serve our membership and create meaningful opportunities across our community.

The Washington County Chamber of Commerce exists to be a catalyst for economic vitality, business sustainability, and strong community collaboration. As Executive Director, I am committed to leading with clear purpose, practical focus, and measurable results, while also staying grounded in the relationships that make this work so meaningful.

One of our most important priorities is creating a sense of purpose and opportunity for all, especially for our youth ages 0–18. Investing in the next generation is essential to the long-term success of Washington County, and we are intentional about building pathways that inspire, engage, and support them.

At the same time, we are focused on strengthening our foundation, growing and engaging membership, building strong partnerships, and shining a light on the incredible small business community that makes our county unique. We are working to ensure the Chamber remains a credible, responsive, and results-driven organization that our members can rely on.

More than anything, we want the Chamber to be a trusted gathering place, one that listens, connects, and supports businesses and individuals at every stage. Through consistent communication and collaborative leadership, we will continue to serve our entrepreneurs, employers, and community partners in ways that are both practical and impactful.

I am committed to leading with accountability, transparency, and steady execution as we build something lasting, together, for the future of Washington County and the people who call it home.

    Warm Regards,

    Shirley Parrado, MA
